Making Dance |
|
|
| |
I began dancing
at age four and received classical ballet training at
Los Gatos Academy of Dance and attended the Boston School
of Ballet. Studied modern dance with Margaret
Wingrove and David Grenke. Performed
with the Margaret Wingrove Dance Company for 12
years. At MWDC, in addition to dancing, I worked
as Assistant Director and Board Member. I produced
performances and set my own choreography with MWDC and
independently throughout the Bay Area. I danced
with Nina Galin Music and Dance and Karl Schaffer
Dance Company. Most recently I've been a performing
member of the Mark Foehringer Dance Project.
Here are some hightlights from my years of performing
(click on the dates, pictures):

MELINDA LIGHTFOOT,
OAKLAND TRIBUNE, SEPT 2001:
"The second work was Of These, Hope
based on Peter Gabriel's music for The Last Temptation
of Christ. Annette Williams' performance was
a gift to the audience, by turns exuberant, searching and
awestruck into surrender."

"...with an intensity and ferocity appropriate
to the score and choreography, Annette Williams was particularly
effective in this abstract piece."

SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS,
FEB 1988:
"Effortlessly partnered by Michael Howerton
in Reflection, Annette Williams' modern
vocabulary was beautifully heightened by her balletic line
and strength. The whole company displayed grace and
stage presence in Trio de Mort."
